Pat Goss' Vehicle History Tips
Car Title Histories
Reviewing a car title history is a smart move before purchasing a used
car. This report may reveal potential problems which you wouldn't have
been able to discover on your own by just looking at the car. You may
be surprised to find out that many cars which experience major damage
from flooding, collisions, and other unfortunate occasions are sometimes
repaired and then resold. There is nothing innately wrong with reselling
a repaired car, but the problem arises when the buyer isn't notified
of the car's previous condition. A car title history report will reveal
any of these problems and will alert potential buyers even when the dealership
or seller does not disclose the history. You can purchase car title histories
online, or you can request one from the dealership when negotiating.
You should make sure, however, that the Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN) on the report matches the VIN on the car exactly. You want to be
sure that the report you are reviewing is actually for the car you are
considering buying.
