This 5-year, 60,000-mile Genesis basic warranty covers the repair or replacement of any part manufactured or installed by Hyundai Motor Group, Hyundai Motor Company, or Genesis Motor America, including parts and labor, to fix defects in material or workmanship, excluding certain listed components.

If you have a new Genesis vehicle, here are a few things you need to know about the Genesis warranty.

• The original car batteries are covered for up to 3 years/36,000 miles.
• The radio, car navigation system, and Bluetooth are covered for the full 5 years/60,000 miles.
• Paint repairs are covered for 3 years/36,000 miles. However, keep an eye out for any cosmetic imperfections to trim or paint at delivery because such concerns are covered for only 1 year/12,000 miles under the Genesis warranty.
• You can claim the Genesis warranty for service adjustments due to manufacturing defects for up to 1 year/12,000 miles.
• Air conditioner refrigerant charge is covered for up to 1 year/unlimited miles.
• Normal maintenance services, routine wear and tear of any part, and damage due to accidents, theft, misuse, fire, and flood are excluded from the warranty. You can talk to your local dealer or read your Genesis Owner Handbook and Warranty document for a complete list of exclusions.
• Tires will be covered by their original manufacturer.

Genesis Powertrain Limited Warranty

The Genesis powertrain warranty covers the repair and/or replacement of powertrain components to fix manufacturing defects, excluding certain listed components and vehicles used for commercial purposes.

If you are the original owner of the Genesis vehicle, this warranty lasts 10 years/100,000 miles from purchase. Second owners will have coverage for the powertrain components for up to 5 years/60,000 miles under the Genesis New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Genesis Anti-Perforation Limited Warranty

This warranty covers any vehicle body sheet metal perforation due to corrosion caused by factory defects and under normal use for 7 years/unlimited miles.

Remember to keep all of the body repair records, as it may be necessary to prove that the required anti-corrosion materials have been applied to any previously repaired/replaced parts.

This warranty doesn’t cover:

• Corrosion other than perforation
• Corrosion of the exterior surface of the underbody panels

Federal Emission Control Warranty

Certain listed emission control parts are covered for 8 years/80,000 miles.

California Emission Control Warranty

This Genesis warranty is applicable to models certified for sale in California and will ensure your Genesis vehicle meets the state’s strict anti-smog standards.

While the Emission Control Performance Warranty will take care of any necessary vehicle repairs or adjustments to pass the smog check inspection for the first 5 years/60,000 miles, the Emission Control System Defect Warranty provides coverage for factory defects to specific components for up to 7 years/70,000 miles or 8 years/80,000 miles.

Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty

The Genesis Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty provides coverage for any genuine Genesis replacement part or accessory that was found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use, excluding certain listed parts.

The warranty for replacement parts is valid for 1 year/12,000 miles from the date of installation and covers labor/parts charges for items sold and installed by an authorized Genesis retailer. If the part was not originally installed by a Genesis retailer, only the charge for parts will be covered.

A Genesis/Hyundai Genuine accessory installed by an authorized Genesis retailer in a new vehicle is covered by the accessory warranty for up to 1 year/unlimited miles from the date of purchase of a new Genesis vehicle.

Is the Genesis Warranty Transferable?

If you decide to sell your Genesis during the warranty period, these warranties can be transferred to the new owner for the remainder of the warranty period.
