As cars have increasingly become more complicated and sophisticated, it’s important now more than ever to look into owning extended vehicle protection.

Car parts that could have been replaced for a couple hundred dollars years ago now bring in bills totaling in the thousands. This is where CARCHEX comes in.

An extended car warranty can cover owners whose cars have lived passed their original factory warranty but are still in good, reliable condition.

Once a car has lived passed its original factory warranty, you’d be amazed at what some repairs cost.

In the video below, our resident car expert and CARCHEX spokesman, Motorweek’s Pat Goss, speaks to the value and benefit provided to owners of extended vehicle protection from CARCHEX.

CARCHEX has your back and you can relax  knowing that with a car warranty, your wallet won’t be hit hard by the repair shop. How does extended vehicle protection help the driver? Well, in a lot of ways…
First it gives peace of mind. It gives peace of mind because there are a lot of things that can fail on an automobile that are outrageously expensive these days. That wonderful feel that modern cars have, well it comes from things like rack and pinion steering and a lot of those have variable ratios and they have variable assists and all kinds of computer controls. Which means that a steering rack these days, which 30 years ago might have been a $200 job, now could easily be a $2000 or $3000 job.
Along with that, engine problems. Yes, engines are far better than they ever were in the past but they’re also more sensitive. Maybe you don’t do something quite right, you could have an engine problem. Or you might just have an engine that well, wasn’t assembled quite right at the factory and it doesn’t show up for 70K, 80K, 90K, 100K miles.
Automatic transmissions, a lot of us drive in a lot of the heavy traffic and the enemy of an automatic transmission is heat. The more heat you have, the shorter the life of a transmission.
Some of these things are $3000, $4000, $5000, $6000K; the value of the extended protection is that you don’t have to worry about these things.
